Delegation for relations with Israel

Set up following the first elections of 1979, the Delegation for relations with Israel is one of Parliament’s oldest and most respectful. Forty members and substitutes are working in it Emil Stoyanov is one of the twenty two full members and the only Bulgarian among them.

The delegation is responsible for maintaining and developing Parliament's contacts with the Israeli Knesset. In fulfilling its functions the delegation holds regular working meetings and hearings. Depending on events in the region, the delegation can hold joint meetings with the relevant parliamentary committees (AFET, DROI and DEVE) or other delegations with responsibility for the region, such as the Delegation for relations with the Palestinian Legislative Council or Delegation for relations with the Mashreq countries.

The Delegation for relations with Israel is chaired by the Dutch MEP Bastiaan Belder from the group Europe of freedom and democracy Group.
